What Is Crowd-Placed Content? Main Things to Know

As you already know, you can use different approaches to build backlinks to your site. And Adsy has been supporting you in this for ages.
Yet, there are different options you can use, and you have to know how they differ.
In this article, we will talk about the crowd-placed content, what it does, and how it varies from guest posting.
What is crowd-place content?
Crowd-placed content is content with links you will post, e.g., on your own profile section pages, user-generated content areas (such as blog posts, comments, etc), review sites, social media platforms, forums, comment sections, and so on.
For instance, these posts on the profile pages are crowd posts.
For example, such links on forums (like Quora, Reddit, etc.) are considered crowd-placed content.
Or, if someone writes a comment on a blog with a link.

Also, the example is putting a comment as a review with a link on the appropriate sites (like Trustpilot, Yelp, etc.).
This way, in most cases, placing crowd-placed content will either be completely free or rather low for a publisher.
Important notice for publishers
We ask all publishers to state if they provide a crowd-placed content option on the sites they’ve listed. This is a must.
It is possible to do this while filling out the site’s form.
Or while uploading sites via a file.
If you do not do this (however, you make this kind of placement) and we receive a dispute from the advertiser, the dispute will be resolved in the advertiser’s favor.
To eliminate all the unclear cases and keep your ratings high, mark the sites with “Crowd-placed content” if applicable.
Crowd-placed content for advertisers
We mark crowd placements to make everything transparent. Basically, you act as usual.
Go to the Verified sites, set filters, and choose the fitting site. Then, click “Buy post” and move to the performer’s choice.
If the publisher provides the crowd-placed content on the domain, they will be marked with the tag “Crowd Post.”
If you do not wish to receive this type of content placement, do not choose the publisher with this tag.
Though we ask all publishers to mark this type of placement, some false cases might still appear. We are working on them, but in the meantime, we ask you to be attentive.
If you notice that the price from one publisher is much lower than the prices the others offer, it might be crowd content . This way, if you still decide to work with such a publisher, ask them where and how they are going to place your post with a link or your link.
Differences between Crowd-placed Content and Guest Posts
While both help you build backlinks, they offer different types of coverage and “power.”
This way, if you need to:
- Build backlinks,
- Grow brand awareness,
- Engage new leads,
- Show your expertise,
- Educate readers,
You’d better choose guest posting. Guest posting, undoubtedly, is more powerful and will bring you better results.
If you only wish to grow your backlink profile and don’t have a huge budget for this, crowd-placed content might be a fit for you.
That said, crowd posts are neither better nor worse compared to guest posts. They just cover other goals and serve differently.
If you want to create the most varied backlink profile, you can combine both tactics.
